Grant R. Dow, B.A., LL.B.
Certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Grant R. Dow received his Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from Brock University in 1978 and his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1981.
Since his call to the Bar in 1983, his practice has concentrated in the area of civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance and personal injury issues. A member of the Canadian Bar Association, Metropolitan Toronto Law Association, the Medico-Legal Society of Toronto and The Advocates' Society, he has conducted jury trials and appeared in all levels of courts in Ontario including the Court of Appeal. Also, Grant has been involved in alternative dispute resolution matters as counsel since 1993, is a 1997 graduate of The Advocates' Society of Mediation Workshop taught by instructors from the Harvard Law School, and has acted as a mediator in private mediations with successful resolutions. He has been certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a specialist in civil litigation.
He has specialized in matters adjudicated by and has regularly appeared before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario since its inception in 1990 including sitting on the Commission’s Bar-Dispute Resolution Group Forum.
He also has participated as an instructor in community college courses and continuing education programs organized by the Law Society of Upper Canada since 1989.
