Catherine H. Zingg, B.A. LL.B.

Catherine Zingg received her Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from the University of Toronto in 1983. She then earned her Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1986.  She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1989.

Catherine is a co-author, with James Flaherty, of two books that are widely used in the insurance industry:  Accident Benefits in Ontario, 2005 and Motor Vehicle Insurance: Law and Practice, 1993, both published by Canada Law Book.  In addition, she writes the Accident Benefits Newsletter, which is published monthly.

She was a member of the Minister's Committee on the Designated Assessment Centre System which developed protocols for the operation of the DAC system.  Presently, Catherine is the Chair of the Counsel Forum at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.  Counsel, paralegals and Commission members use the Forum to address matters of concern to users of the dispute resolution process.

 Catherine has been an Instructor (Civil Litigation) for the Bar Admission Course and the Skills and Professional Responsibility Program at the Law Society of Upper Canada.  She has also presented papers at continuing education programs given by the Law Society.

She was a member of the Civil Litigation Executive and the Young Lawyers division of the Canadian Bar Association of Ontario.  Catherine has also served as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Women's Law Association of Ontario and is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Medical Legal Society and the Advocates' Society.
